what is too personal…
Last weekend when I was experiencing the dreaded flu illness all I wanted was some sleep, some bad tv and for someone to bring me some chicken soup. When we are sick, we do want people to wait on us..we want that offer to be given to us so that we can reject it…Most people unless you are sooo sick will very nicely reject an offer to have something done when you are sick….but what if you don’t
What daunting task is too personal…do you ask a friend to come over and make dinner, or bring by some ginger ale, or pick up dry cleaning, or walk their dog. How about their laundry. Now come on people, most of you are not that sick where you cannot perofrm your own chores and you are just using illness as an excuse to vaccum that rug that’s needed it for the past 6 months or doing those dishes that have been sitting there since last weekend. Those should have already been done way before you got sick so now you are lazy and a mooch. I don’t think that I have too many friends that I would do this for…but thats just me. No one wants to see the mess you made and have to be the one to clean it up…I am not your maid.
So next time you are sick, please unless you are so very very ill be nice to your friends who offer small requests to help and don’t make them hop on a train to see you and make them sick….with the sight of your laundry piled up over the last 3 weeks and ask them to help with it.
