when dating becomes an expense….
So, after CBD kept telling me “that I could miss out on a date” because my standards are too high (mainly on education level-come on I picked at least a 2 yr. education), I decided that I needed to go to a more credible site-ohhh man… was I in for it
I filled out an some information on this dating agency (name will remain confidential) and was told that I would be contacted promptly…45 minutes later
DA:Hi this is Karen. May I speak to Chelsea
Me: This is she
DA: I’m with () and you wanted some information about dating
Me: Yes, I just wanted to find out how the dating service works
DA: Well, first let me know how did you hear about us and what is a typical day like for you
Me: I read about you in the red eye (actually my therapist told me about it) and a typical day is out by 9 and home by 5-6 with a couple of different jobs through the week
DA: Ok…are you ever free during the day
Me: no not really
DA: So, our dates are either lunch or drinks after work-does that work for you
Me: Drinks after work would be good
DA: Okay, this is what an ad would sound like with a guy that we might set you up with
His name is Mike, 30, 5′11 and blue eyes. He likes to ski and snowboard. He doesn’t need a girl who snowboards, but would like an adventerous girl. He likes to travel, cook and has a summer home in Miami.
Does that sound like someone you would be interested in
Me:umm…sure (THINKING)-too bad I can’t really meet a guy like that in real life
DA:Great, the way we work is you sign a 12 month contract, it costs $1800.00 and you get 12 dates
ME: (trying not to choke)-thinking $1800.00 for that kind of money, do I get the date paid for and a guarentee that he is not a tool
DA:When can we get you in for a consultation. It takes about an hour
Me: (thinking)-oh..this is a bad idea…ummm Maybe later this week
DA:Well, how about if you call me later this week and we can talk about a meeting
So a couple of days pass and after avoiding several phone calls, I decided to man up, and tell Karen that I was not interested
ME: This is Chelsea. We talked a couple of days ago
DA: Right-When can we meet up
ME: (this is how I wish the convo. went..) Look Karen, I am so terribly sorry to waste your time, but I am going to be traveling quite often and so I will actually not be around, along with my terribly busy work schedule-thanks love tata

umm… you see ummm I have some work that is picking up and I think I might be traveling-yeah thats it traveling. Also,my work is picking up-oh wait I already said that, and I just want to be fully committed to dating (what?) Thanks-bye
