Move over fella’s-
These are the girls to watch-the windy city roller derby girls. Not only are they tough on the flat track but they have kick-ass names such as: hoosier momma, peg leg and princess america-who properly sports red, white and blue spankies. These tough gals also get to sport fishnet tights and funky leggings/socks. he crowd went crazy for the WCR when they skated onto the fields, but they skated their way into my heart beating North Carolina with a score of 185 to 16.
…this is the very basic understanding of the sport
Each team has 5 girls on the flat track at once with a jammer-the jammer tries to get around the pack of girls into the front and continues to get through the pack and around the track while her teammates help her out. However the opposing team is blocking the opposite team’s jammer with elbows, bumping them with their hips and blocking them while they get shoved off to the sidelines. This event had me sitting at the edge of my seat and on a nail biting edge to the end. This sporting event with all it’s falls and pile ups inspired me to come up with a few names of my own.
